


Teaching to Special Populations: Cancer, Mental Health, Heart Disease, Back Pain, Diabetes - In Person 1/10 - 1/11/26
We will look at common health issues and how to work in a private setting with these clients as well as addressing needs in a class. to reduce the risk of exacerbating these conditions in public yoga spaces. Students will learn details of many common conditions where yoga supports these conditions, such as parkinson's. We will look at the current scientific research showing risks and benefits of yoga for these conditions. Discussion of a yoga teacher’s scope of practice and how to maintain ethical boundaries.
Students will have the opportunity to look at case studies and design practices for these cases. Review yogic tools which are NOT recommended for the health conditions we will discuss.
