Advanced Asana, Sequencing and Theming - In Person 6/13 - 6/14/26
We will break down why intelligent sequencing is a safe, effective way to teach a class that leads to our students success and how to create an intelligently sequenced class. But this is only one key part to a truly successful class experience.
Theming takes students practice from workout to experience. Yoga is a systematic psychology that gets lost in the West’s quest for physical fitness. By providing theme, we bring the practice to full circle. We bring the student back to the why beyond physical; a message they can embody off the mat. We will explore the difference between a class and an experience; pranayama, music, and atmosphere, sequence and theme.
Students will learn prep poses, actions and energetics, variations for each of the following postures:
parsva bhuja dandasana (hummingbird)
pincha mayurasana (forearm stand)
eka pada gaivanasana (flying pigeon)
eka pada bakasana (side crow)
bhujapidsana (shoulder pressing pose)
titibhasana (firefly)
eka pada bakasana (one legged crow)
